Bongi’s story began in a small village in the Eastern Cape, at the foot of a mountain. Growing up in a remote rural setting gave her a deep appreciation for open spaces and the peace of a simple life. Her world later expanded when she secured a scholarship to the UK to study in Birmingham, where she earned a first-class Honours degree. This academic foundation provided a sophisticated, global perspective that she eventually brought back to her roots in Africa.

After 14 years in the luxury travel industry, working with top-tier concierge desks and ultra-luxe safari outfitters, she joined the Safari Portal team. Having personally explored most of Southern Africa’s premier destinations, she saw firsthand how the platform acted as a “secret weapon”, allowing her to produce world-class itineraries through a simple and intuitive process.

As a natural creative problem solver, she has a gift for making the complex look effortless - a skill she has perfected while navigating life as a single mother to her creative teenage son. She is a firm believer in graceful efficiency and brings a polished excellence to everything she touches, ensuring even the most technical tasks are handled with style and ease.

When she isn’t helping travel partners find their flow, you will find her soaking up the Cape Town vibe - exploring local markets, enjoying sushi dates, or taking scenic drives with her son to the sound of loud house music.
